Configure Bria/Counterpath x-lite to connect to Nebula

Nebula configuration guide for Counterpath X-Lite or Bria App

X-lite 

X-lite is a reliable SIP based soft-client available from Counterpath. Counterpath make a number of softphones, X-lite is Counterpaths free softphone offering with Bria being a paid for version with more features and availability on the iPhone and iPad. X-lite is available for multiple platforms in this document we will cover the PC and Mac versions of the software. 

Caveats (please read)

X-lite does not support transfer in the free editions, If you need to transfer calls you will need to use another client or purchase Counterpath Bria the paid for version. This Guide In this guide we will tell you how to get your X-lite software working with the NebulaIP servers. This guide does not contain instructions on how to use x-lite, these can be found at; 


Pre-requisites

 The following pre-requisites are made by this guide please make sure you meet them 1, You have Administrator access to the machine. 2, You have downloaded and installed Counterpath X-lite. 3, You have set up a NebulaIP account and have access to your account details.

X-lite 4 (Windows Version) 

If X-lite is not already running open the program from the start menu or by double clicking the icon on your desktop. If it has already been running and minimized you may fine it still running in the task tray by the clock. 

The Icon should look like this. 


Once X-lite is open you will need to get to the SIP Account options page, this can be done by clicking on the “Softphone menu” and selecting “Account settings”. 
Fill in the following details replace items within {} with your own account details available from the NebulaIP portal. The SIP domain name will be the same as the url you log onto to configure your system. 
User Details Account name: {Sip domain name) example pbx.NebulaIP.com 
User ID : {extension number} example 1001 Domain: {Sip domain name) example pbx.NebulaIP.com 
Password: {password] example: Th1sv3ryStr0n6p45!
Display Name: {extension number} example: 1001 
Authorization name: {extension number} example: 1001  

Domain Proxy 

Register with domain and receive incoming calls should be checked (active). 

Send outbound calls Via: Domain should also be selected. 

No other settings should need to be changed and once you have clicked OK it will go the through the process of “Enabling Account” and logging on. Once logged in your status should change to Available with a green tick. 

X-lite 4 (Mac Version) 

If X-lite is not already running open the program from the dock or by double clicking the icon on your applications folder.

Once X-lite is open you will need to get to the SIP Account options page, this can be done by clicking on the “X-Lite 4” menu, selecting “Preferences” and then Accounts. Fill in the following details replace items within {} with your own account details available from the NebulaIP portal. 

The SIP domain name will be the same as the url you log onto to configure your system. 
User Details Account name: {Sip domain name) example pbx.NebulaIP.com 
User ID : {extension number} example 1001 
Domain: {Sip domain name) example pbx.NebulaIP.com 
Password: {password] example: Th1sv3ryStr0n6p45! 
Display Name: {extension number} example: 1001 
Authorization name: {extension number} example: 1001  

Domain Proxy Register with domain and receive incoming calls should be checked (active). Send outbound calls Via: Domain should also be selected. No other settings should need to be changed and once you have clicked OK the status indicator should briefly turn yellow and then green to show you have successfully logged on.
